Climate Strike – Sept. 20 2019

In thousands of locations around the world, students will be leaving their classes and professionals leaving their jobs to demand an adequate response to climate change. We are leaving our classes — purportedly our best preparation for our future — because we need to ensure that we have a liveable future.

We are rallying at Ho Plaza at 11 am, and then heading down to The Commons to join the Ithaca Strike Rally with Sunrise Ithaca, IHS and IC Students, Extinction Rebellion Ithaca, Mothers Out Front, and more.

Students

We hope you’ll join us in striking. You can use this template to let your professors know you’ll be missing class because you’re on strike.

You can pledge to strike here, and make a post on social media.

If you cannot miss classes, you can participate in other ways, like by painting posters during our art nights.

Professors/Lecturers/etc:

We hope you will excuse your students’ absences during the strike. To go a step further, we hope that you will join us in striking.

We trust you understand the urgency of the climate crisis and recognize that we are fighting for a liveable future.

You can pledge to strike here, or share this slide with your class.
